Jeg tror ikke de skjønner, ikke en gang han her som virker relativt oppegående har skjønt hva de fleste av oss tenker om Trump og USA nå.
Jack Schultz:
This comment from a friend from Denmark to my post on a UN vote by the US, struck a nerve with me, that I’d like to hear from you. From my recent travels, research and reading, I’m becoming increasingly concerned that the US is burning some bridges with countries, that have stood steadfast for decades. Until now. What are your thoughts? Is there anything we should be concerned about for our grandchildren?
Hans-Henrik Nielsen:
That is a proven fact. Denmark has (for most of my life) been one of the most loyal allies of USA. We have supported and participated in every single US-backed conflict in the world.
In the latest poll in Denmark of 15-20.000 people the result was that around 66% of Danes now see USA as either a direct enemy or as a country that we should not collaborate with.
That is due to tariff war, your political line on women, USAID, Trump's alliance with oligarcs, Trump threatening to take Greenland, Trump's sucking up to Putin, cutting support to Ukraine etc. etc. etc.
Our of 20 people in my network that had planned travels to USA; 19 of them have either cancelled or redirected it to Canada.
There are large business networks being set up with the sole purpose of finding good supplier to replace the current ones from USA.
Overall the view in Denmark is, that USA has become the old, racist uncle that no one wants to visit or have visiting us.
I'm really sorry to say it, because I used to be one of the largets fans of USA.
